Where can you see rock stars onstage with their favorite supermodels, and fashion designers dancing to the music of their favorite singers? What's the only awards show devoted to celebrating the link between fashion and music? The VH1 Fashion Awards, of course!
The 1996 Awards will take place Thursday, October 24 at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The Awards will be telecast on VH1 the following night, Friday, October 25, at 9 p.m. EST. Between live performances by such trendsetters as David Bowie, Toni Braxton and Garbage, awards will be presented to innovators in fashion and music.
The nominees for the 1996 VH1 Fashion Awards were determined by the VH1 Style Council, an exclusive committee of top fashion editors, journalists, curators, stylists and photographers, along with the VH1 Executive Committee. The Awards will be determined by the larger VH1 Fashion Awards Voting Body, a group of 150 fashion and music professionals from around the world.
Lauren Zalaznick is executive producer of the 1996 VH1 Fashion Awards. Joel Gallen of Tenth Planet Productions is the producer. Dan Appel is the producer for VH1. Bruce Gowers will direct.
Sponsors of the 1996 VH1 Fashion Awards are Lee Jeans, Sprint, BMW, Clairol, and Blistex.
